Description

ICARE (the International Centre for Animal Rights and Ethics) is looking for a creative and mission-driven volunteer to support its visual identity and social media outreach. We are an international non-profit organisation working to help end animal exploitation by building a stronger, more effective animal rights movement. Through education, research, and advocacy, we equip animal advocates with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to drive systemic legal and social change for animals. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys visual storytelling, values clear and thoughtful communication, and wants to use their creative skills to support a meaningful cause. The volunteer will work closely with ICARE’s Executive Director and collaborators involved in communications, social media, marketing, and fundraising to help produce engaging, visually coherent content across ICARE’s platforms. The role includes designing content such as carousels, static graphics, and short-form visuals or reels to help promote ICARE’s resources, programmes, courses, events, and broader activities, as well as occasional awareness-raising and institutional content, including team-related communications. The volunteer will help maintain consistency with ICARE’s visual identity, brand guidelines, and tone across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Bluesky. This role does not currently cover ICARE’s more specialised educational series that require substantive legal expertise in animal rights law. Those materials are handled separately by people with relevant subject-matter expertise. The focus here is therefore on broader organisational and public-facing content rather than legally specialised educational content. The volunteer may support work such as: - designing visually engaging content for ICARE’s social media channels using Canva Pro or similar tools; - helping develop graphics to promote ICARE’s courses, seminars, events, open-access resources, and campaigns; - contributing creative ideas to strengthen ICARE’s content strategy and outreach; - ensuring consistency with ICARE’s branding, visual identity, and voice; preparing content for scheduling and publication; - working within a content calendar and agreed workflow; - incorporating feedback constructively and delivering content in line with deadlines. We are looking for someone with a strong eye for design, consistency, and storytelling; good communication skills; and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small international team. Proficiency in Canva is especially important. Experience with tools such as Buffer, Airtable, and Slack would be helpful but is not essential. This is a remote volunteer role with a flexible schedule of approximately 6–8 hours per week. It would suit someone reliable, proactive, and responsive who is excited to support animal rights advocacy through creative communications.
