Description

ICARE (the International Centre for Animal Rights and Ethics) is looking for a volunteer to support its ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) work across programmes and projects. We are an international non-profit organisation working to help end animal exploitation by building a stronger, more effective animal rights movement. Through education, research, and advocacy, we equip animal advocates with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to drive systemic legal and social change for animals. As a small and volunteer-run organisation, we are looking for someone who can help us build and sustain a practical approach to ongoing impact tracking, evaluation, and organisational learning. This role would support ICARE over time in reviewing progress against our objectives, strengthening how we track results across projects and programmes, and helping turn evidence into useful learning for decision-making. The volunteer may support work such as: - helping track progress and results across ICARE’s programmes and projects on an ongoing basis; - reviewing outcomes and results against objectives, indicators, and intended impact as set in our strategic plan; - refining indicators and MEL tools to make them clearer, more useful, and proportionate to ICARE’s size and capacity; - designing surveys and feedback tools for participants, partners, and other stakeholders; - supporting data collection, organisation, and basic analysis; - helping identify patterns, lessons, and areas for improvement across programmes; - producing clear summaries, learning notes, and insights to inform programme development, fundraising, communications, and organisational strategy; - contributing to a culture of continuous learning and reflection within the organisation. This is a remote, long-term volunteer role of around 5 hours per week. We are looking for someone committed to the cause and willing to support a growing organisation, reliable and proactive, with strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and experience in monitoring, evaluation, learning, survey design, and data analysis. We would especially value someone who can combine rigour with practicality and help us develop systems that are useful, sustainable, and aligned with the realities of a small mission-driven organisation with plans to scale and willing to implement learnings swiftly.
