Description

ICARE (the International Centre for Animal Rights and Ethics) is looking for a volunteer to help strengthen our online reach and support the smooth running of our digital platforms. We are a non-profit organisation working internationally to advance animal rights through education, research, and advocacy. As a small and volunteer-run organisation, we are looking for someone who can provide steady, practical support to improve our website discoverability and maintain key parts of our web infrastructure over time. This role combines SEO and AI-assisted search visibility work with light web/IT development and ongoing website support. The aim is both to help more people find ICARE’s resources, courses, and events, and to ensure that our website and related tools remain functional, accessible, and well maintained. The volunteer would support areas such as: - improving SEO and overall website discoverability; - strengthening visibility in AI-assisted search and answer engines; - reviewing site structure, metadata, internal linking, and content discoverability; - helping track performance through analytics and search tools; - supporting website updates, improvements, and minor fixes; - assisting with forms, integrations, and user experience improvements; - helping improve accessibility and general website hygiene; - offering light technical support to keep ICARE’s online platforms running smoothly and securely. This is a long-term support role of around 5 hours per week, fully remote. We are looking for someone reliable, proactive, and comfortable working independently, while also communicating clearly with a small mission-driven team. The ideal volunteer does not need to be an expert in every aspect of the role. We would especially value someone with a solid foundation in website management and SEO/AIO, good judgment, and an interest in supporting a growing animal rights organisation with practical digital work that can strengthen our impact.
